Since then, Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel has become one of the more successful tribal casinos in Michigan. It is one of two casinos owned by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, the other being the Leelanau Sands Casino & Lodge in Peshawbestown.

Through 2022, Turtle Creek Casino and Leelanau Sands Casino have combined to pay almost $45 million to local revenue sharing boards to benefit the state as a whole.
