The Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel opened in Williamsburg, MI in June 1996. However, significant renovations were needed, leading the casino to close its doors before reopening in 2008.
Since then, Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel has become one of the more successful tribal casinos in Michigan. It is one of two casinos owned by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, the other being the Leelanau Sands Casino & Lodge in Peshawbestown.
The casino floor has more than 55,000 square feet of gaming space, along with a 135-room hotel. Turtle Creek is not pet-friendly but does allow service animals.
Through 2022, Turtle Creek Casino and Leelanau Sands Casino have combined to pay almost $45 million to local revenue sharing boards to benefit the state as a whole. Specifically, these funds went towards public education programs, post-secondary schooling, emergency/first responder services, conservation efforts, and local governments for further community investment projects.
The property used to run a poker room, but Turtle Creek has since shut down this operation. It also does not run bingo games, though Leelanau Sands does.
Guests will want to be sure to register for the casino rewards program called the “Players Club.” Players Club members can earn a multitude of discounts during their casino stay while progressing through rewards tiers for escalating perks.
